The goal of Schools: an asthma friendly environment project (SAFE) is to promote a good quality of life for children, employees and all occupants of school buildings through policies and activities that support and encourage the prevention of health risks, especially, through the identification and mitigation of asthma indoors and outdoors environmental triggers.
The principal objective is to develop Train the Trainee Workshops for building capacity among school staff members and participants in basics of environmental health science, environmental asthma triggers identification and mitigation, and Indoor Air Quality management and best practices. Schools: an Asthma Friendly Environment Project (SAFE), has been designed to provide more educational and technical resources for the improvement of indoor air quality (IAQ) in children’ schools and their homes.
The purpose of SAFE website is to provide an effective outreach tool for the dissemination of the project trainings and activities as well as to strengthen network with individuals and agencies interested in and supportive of improving indoors and outdoors environmental quality.
